Nothing says winter vegetables more than parsnips and sweet potatoes. These root vegetables are truly a magical side dish. Smothered in cinnamon, nutmeg and garlic, this dish is a really comforting treat.
Nutmeg is one of those amazing winter spices whose smell evokes feelings of snuggling up by the fire or trawling through Christmas markets. Unlike cinnamon, nutmeg has a really strong flavour so we only need a teaspoon in this recipe, however it has fantastic Ayurvedic properties and is fantastic for digestion and for glowing skin.
Eating these vegetables regularly will work wonders for your body; they can help you to absorb iron, increase your exercise stamina and are great for vision and bone growth.
