I love a spa! I love the smell of them, the soft music and the fact you can wear a dressing gown to lunch and no-one bats an eye.
I’m trying to do lots of mini adventures before I have my baby and when I saw Lifehouse Spa did a pregnancy package I booked myself in for a night.
Now I can only speak for the pregnancy treatments, but they were amazing. The pregnancy massage was so wonderful, apparently, I had loads of knots that she gently massaged out. I’ve never had a pregnancy massage and wasn’t sure how it was going to go down as I can’t lie on my stomach. Instead I lay on my side with a bolster like pillow in between my knees it was super comfy and I felt she could get into my neck area much better. The next day I had a facial and foot scrub which was dreamy, my skin felt super fresh and glowing. Kieran came with me and had the Swedish massage and he said it was the best massage he had ever had, and he’s quite picky.
We headed down to restaurant around 7pm and it was packed! It was great to see how busy this spa is. I was given a set menu which was so good. It was pretty enormous, I know I’m eating for two but I left pretty stuffed. The al a carte has so much to offer with a section for healthy options and one for indulgent so whichever way you want to go you have the choice. The staff were the dream, super attentive and the place had a great buzz which often spas lack. Breakfast the next morning was also lovely; a great buffet spread and different types of eggs to order.
Although we didn’t spend much time at the spa, apart from our treatments, there is a sauna, steam room, pool and gym. Being pregnant means I can’t indulge in a sweaty steam session but it all looked wonderful and next time I’ll be in there for sure. There were lots of lovely fit couples heading to the gym, but we decided to lounge around in our dressing gowns instead.
The room was gorgeous, super spacious and the bed was enormous which was great for the three of us. The shower and bathroom were really bright and the shower had a wonderful pressure to it.
Overall I had a perfect time, it was just what the doctor ordered; an enjoyable, indulgent night away.
