I’m a mother, nutritional therapist and author who has been sharing recipes to help you get the glow back for the last 8 years...
I love washing my face; it is honestly is one of my favourite things to do. I get so excited to do it after a long day. I feel so good afterwards, it cleanses me and makes me feel like me.
Living in London, riding the tube… frankly your skin gets pretty dirty and damaged.
My skin regime is very simple and uses clean, natural products. I love to use organic products when I can because our skin absorbs 70% of what we put on it. That’s A LOT!
However, I’m no saint and not all of my beauty cabinet is the purest but I do try here and there.
Step 1 – CLEANSE
Firstly, I double cleanse with the amazing Pai hydrating cleanser. The first cleanse gets off makeup and the second, dirt. This cleanser is perfect for removing makeup and it is super creamy and lovely and gentle on the skin. It comes with a muslin cloth so you can see the dirt you have been wearing all day.
Next, I cleanse again. This time I use the super Oskia cleansing gel. If I don’t wear makeup that day I tend to just do one Pai cleanse then one Oskia; I find Oskia cleanses really deeply. It’s amazing how long it’s lasted me too, I’ve had my current bottle for over 6 months and it’s still gong strong here with me in Sicily (where I’m on holiday presently)!
Step 2 – TONE
Next, I tone with either Pai’s blossom toner or just some rose water when I’ve run out. This sets everything just right and feels nice too. It’s very calming for the skin and adds a layer of moisturisation.
Step 3 – MOISTURISE
So during the day, I use a cream moisturiser, again Pai (yes I love them) or I use something thicker like Oskias day cream. The Pai day cream is super light and goes on really easily.
Tip: wait for the toner to dry before applying- I always make this mistake when rushing out the door.
The Oskia day cream is super nourishing too and ill use this when flying or when I’m feeling like a bit more glow.
Step 4- ADD SOME GLOW
In the evening, I love oils like Pai’s rose hip oil. I find it doesn’t make my skin too oily and I wake up fresh faced. I lather on a few drops straight after the toner, as I find the toner helps it absorb and thin the oil a little.
I don’t use eye cream… yet, or serums. I try and keep things basic at the minute. However the rule is I do this twice a day every day.
A great facialist once told me that skin care regime is so important, put love into it and it will reward you.
What’s your skin care regime? Do you have any great products I / everyone else would love, give me a shout out in the comments below…
