Hello and Welcome back to #GYGB
Wow, what an episode!! Katie, mum of two, best-selling international author and inspirational speaker is a true inspiration and an amazing advocate for finding confidence even through hard times.
In this episode we talk through confidence and where to find it, affirmations everyone needs to say to themselves, the imposter syndrome and how to celebrate new chapters.
Some proper me-time
Katies book ‘Confidence’ holds a journal within as well as some of her own journaling:
Try not to categorise every chapter
Be patient and realise you may not be able to change things instantly
Do acts of kindness for other people
The Katie Piper Foundation aims to have a world where scars do not limit a person’s function, social inclusion or sense of well being and it’s doing amazing things.
Influence the language they use
You won’t always get it right however
Post it notes, quotes, poems on a wall in her home
Practice affirmations together
You’ve got something to contribute
Learn from people who you think are better
Don’t see it as competition, see it as learning
Surrender to not being the best at something
Acknowledging the end of something
Celebrate the new chapters
Be organised; plan your outfits
Try not to rush, give yourself time
Katie reads a book or says affirmations the night before to say why she doesn’t need to get up at 5am to put make-up on
Comfort is key!
Don’t expect something from somebody if you don’t give it out to them
If you surround yourself with good energy an confident people, this will reflect onto you and off of you
But, also, don’t overthink it or put yourself in a box!
Thank you so much Katie and thank you so much to you, for listening, it means the world.
