I’m a mother, nutritional therapist and author who has been sharing recipes to help you get the glow back for the last 8 years...
Spring is here and that means wedding season. I have so many friends getting engaged and of course wanting to look their best on their big days.
What you eat effects not just your waistline but your skin too. So whether you are about to get married or you’re off to a wedding get ready to Get the Glow.
For you organised types I can’t recommend my app, Glow Guides enough. I know I’m biased but its the perfect 8 week plan to get you ready for the big day. Glow Guides is an 8 week holistic transformation programme; your pocket nutritionist, personal trainer and nutritionist all in an app. The best thing is that all of the meal planning and shopping lists are written, so it leaves you more time for wedding planning. There’s no need to spend lots of money on expensive personal trainers and pre-packaged food delivery services, invest in your health with Glow Guides. It’s in an app on your phone, so it’s with you at all times and has weekly mediations to keep you calm leading up to the big day.

There is one thing you don’t want to look on your big day and that’s bloated. Not only can bloating be uncomfortable, it can make you feel self conscious which is the last thing you should be thinking!
Beat the bloat by switching and ditching.
Simple swaps which cut down wheat, sugar and processed food will make such a difference. One of my secret tips is to add gelatin into your diet. Gelatin is a source of protein containing 18 amino acids, it’s anti-inflammatory and is incredible at healing the gut lining. It has also been linked to reducing wrinkles, cellulite and helping the liver detox. Miracle? yes!
It comes in a powder form and you can add a tbsp to your smoothies or morning porridge, it is flavourless and really makes a difference!
This is the perfect amount of time to get your skin looking incredible. All you need to do is but out that processed sugar. Yes thats no cakes, cookies etc..i know when you are stressed all your crave is sugar but trust me it doesn’t give you much energy (well just for half an hour). Switch your sugary snacks for protein packed ones like almond butter and apple slices, boiled eggs, avocados, nuts, seeds and hummus.
Don’t panic! One of the most important things is to sleep. I know you are excited and potentially a bit panicky but sleep is what will make you shine. Aim to get in bed for 10pm. Get a good night ritual with pillow spray, camomile tea and a colouring book.
On the morning of the big day you need something that is going to keep you energised, but not bloated. My skin glowing smoothie is perfect for your wedding day.
Place everything into the blender and blend!
I hope this helps you become a glowing bride and even if your not getting married you can apply the same principles.
