I’m a mother, nutritional therapist and author who has been sharing recipes to help you get the glow back for the last 8 years...
I love a facial, it’s a treat I love to give myself. I love having my face massaged and after an hour of skin-love seeing my face in the mirror glowing.
My skincare has changed a lot since I’ve been pregnant. I had terrible breakouts in my first trimester and there are lots of products and facials you can’t use, but these are my favourite places to get a facial when you are pregnant.
Gemma is a walking goddess, with golden skin and a gorgeous smile she knows everything when it comes to skin. She is also pregnant and has of course done all the investigating into the best pregnancy skin care. It was really nice to be treated by someone who is also pregnant, you bond in a special way and it was really nice to get all her advice. She is also a masseuse and gave me the most amazing massage which I really needed. It was a really gentle facial, no extractions, no machines just very manual with a bit of lasers at the end. I felt really relaxed after it and my skin has been so clear ever since.

Although this isn’t a specific facial for pregnancy it is amazing when you have a break out. The facialists are all highly qualified and know everything about which products you should and shouldn’t use. It’s not a very relaxing facial, no massage or soothing music, however the results are amazing and after one treatment my acne cleared after a week.

I have been going for facials at Liz Earle for years. I love their facials as they are the perfect balance between relaxation and actually making your skin look its best. I usually go into the salon to see Abigail to get a facial but opted for one at home. Why not choose a relaxing facial in the comfort of your own home then you can crawl back into bed. Sarah makes you feel so at home, she set up her bed like a pro and suddenly my living room felt like a salon. She used really natural products containing lots of coconut oil and olive oil. I broke out a bit after the facial but a few days later my skin was super plump and radiant. It was so nice to be at home, I often get a bit spaced out after a facial so to jump into bed post-facial was the dream.

If you are into natural skin care then this is the place to go, they were the people that introduced me to apple cider vinegar toner which is AMAZING. This facial is the dream, super soothing and full of tips to boost your skin care during pregnancy. Including a scrumptious holistic massage and gentle infusion to promote cellular health and reduce inflammation. Once cleansed enzymes are used to gently exfoliate the skin, followed by high-tech ultrasound therapy to enhance the effects of a hydrating cocktail. Soothing rose and chamomile oils are used for an acupressure and lymph drainage massage for toxin drainage and tension release before a cooling peppermint mask. It’s like a green juice for your skin.
