Hi Madeleine. I love your blog and have your book and you are an inspiration! I wanted to ask whether you might consider writing a post about the good and bad of carbs and grains? I have struggled with my weight my whole life and last year went on quite a radical diet and lost a lot of weight. I have turned to a ketogenic, low carb diet to maintain the weight loss but am finding that it is not quite so sustainable. Although it keeps me really full most of the day I find myself ravenously hungry and suddenly wanting to binge late at night which is a bit of a disaster. I binge on healthy foods but too much of anything is not a good thing! So I am keen to turn back to carbs to kick the cycle but am terrified about putting the weight back on and there is so much contradictory information out there at the moment so would love your input. Rice for example… should avoid in general but if we are going to eat it on the one hand we have ‘whole foodies’ telling us to go for brown rice and then on the other hand the ‘relaxed paleo eaters’ say that if you are going to eat rice go for basmati because all the phytic acid has been removed and it’s not as toxic as brown rice. Oats – good or bad? Should we eat carbs at night or only in the morning? What is the key to keeping slim? Would love your advise!!
