Travel Guide: How to stay healthy in New York City

Those who follow my Instagram adventures know that last week I was lucky enough to visit one of the most incredible cities in the world…New York! So here’s my Travel Guide: How to stay healthy in New

With my bestie in tow, I set off on a five day culinary adventure – uncovering delicious healthy hot spots, fun places to get your sweat on, plus a spot of shopping or two. Here were some of the amazing places that I discovered, and would recommend to any of you planning an up and coming trip to The Big Apple!

Where to munch:

Butcher’s Daughter

This would have to be my favourite dinner place! An amazing menu day and night, incredible juices, and healthy versions of alcoholic beverages. A great vibe to it and perfect for vegans and vegetarians also.

Juice Generations

I love this place for it’s yummy morning smoothies. They also specialise in fresh juices and raw food, all of which is local and organic. Yes please!

Clover Cafe

If you’re ever in the West Village you have to check this place out.  A warm atmosphere perfect for enjoying a meal with friends and family. A focus on simple ingredients brought together in imaginative and exciting ways.

Hu kitchen

Just like whole foods but even healthier! I could wonder around this place for hours. Next time you are there make sure to try the paleo chocolate…it’s amazing!

Catch

Not a healthy cafe per se, but has amazing fresh fish dishes and super glam for a night out. If you feel like dressing up and splurging a little this is the place to go!

Nourished Kitchen

A truly gorgeous place to visit. The food tastes just as good as it looks (which is very, very good!). A great place to brunch on the weekend.

Where to Sweat:

The Class by TT

The best class I have ever done. Seriously! A real emotional and physical journey.

The class is a 75-minute cathartic mind-body experience that aims to break open and activate stagnant “layers” in the body where stress, tension, and emotions are stored.

I cried, I shook, and I came out a new women. The best thing to do in NYC.

Soul Cycle

Something I just had to try out in the US! In door cycling seems to be the biggest exercise craze right now, and I can see why! An amazing cardio workout that lifts you up and pumps you with energy. The perfect thing to do when you’re jet lagged.

Jivmukti Yoga

Of course I have to try a yoga class or two! This was a seriously inspiring yoga experience with a very spiritual feel and a gorgeous flow to it.

Where to Shop:

Found an amazing little place in New York this weekend – had lunch there two days running. It’s called Otarian and right near Central Park, 47th and 8th I think. It’s vegetarian/vegan, many gluten free with sugar and diary free options too. Check it out next time if you get a chance. xx
