Warming Turmeric Milk

If you don’t have turmeric in your cupboards, run out and get some now.

This is the king of all spices.

What I love most about it, is its colour, so bright and vibrant. Now, I am sure you have spent thousands on creams and pills that claim to have antioxidant powers but turmeric is the real deal.

It is one of the highest antioxidant foods you can find, its super powerful and you only need a tiny bit. Usually found in your currys…here it is in a sweet and sexy drink. I like to have this in the evening when I’m craving something naughty, it is soothing and delicious.

I love seeing your recreations, please share them with me via InstagramFacebook and Twitter using #gettheglow #madeleineshaw

I just made this _ was delicious! I did end up with loads of tumeric and cinnamon at the bottom of my mug though. Did I do something wrong or is this common?! Thanks for the recipe x

I read that for the turmeric to be assimilated it needs to be paired with olive oiil, flax oil or pepper. Did you know this?

I have heard this, I like to pair it with almond milk x

Thank you for this simple and warming drink! I have just made the drink after my meal and it was like a dessert.
So good! I place rice malt syrup instead of honey, because I am avoiding sugars.
I will absolutely make this again. :)

I love this recipe, thank you for sharing :) I drink this milk, but I make it slightly different: I first make a paste of turmeric&black pepper&water (as black pepper activates and boosts turmeric’s benefits) which I keep in the fridge and then I mix some of this paste with warm almond or hemp milk and honey..Healthy and delicious :)

Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best! I make this every night for a soothing bedtime drink although I’ve taken to using cacao instead of cinnamon and I add a pinch of pepper instead of salt. May try to switch it up tonight! Thanks for the inspiring recipes always :)
