Raw chocolate orange oat balls

,

These are the perfect afternoon snack. Totally nut free and packed full of goodness.

The chocolate sits so well with the orange. I love to make these on a sunday night and enjoy them all week long. You can find all the ingredients in your local health food store and supermarket. It’s simple just whack it all in a food processor, roll them out and dig in.

Lets get to it!

I love seeing your recreations, please share them with me via InstagramFacebook and Twitter using #gettheglow #madeleineshaw

Directions

Place the oats in the food processor and grind them down to a fine flour texture.

Add the dates, cacao, coconut oil and salt to the food processor and whizz everything together. Add a splash of BRITA filtered water to help the ingredients combine fully.

Spread the orange zest and dessicated ccoconut out onto a plate. Remove the sticky mixture from the processor and shape into small balls using your hands. Roll the balls in the zest and coconut to give them a delicious coating. Place in the fridge to harden.

Hello, I’m not a lover of dates, have you got any other recommendations of what to use instead?

Raisins? You can’t actually taste the dates because the cacao is so strong x

I love these balls! I added a little orange blossom and it gave a extra fresh orange flavour

I wouldn’t recommend it, but they will last for a while because of the dried fruit x

I’ve already made these three times. Amazing.

I made these the other day – they are so good and so easy to make! I mixed the coconut and zest together before rolling so that each ball had that chocolate-orange flavour to it

These look delicious – making tonight! How many would be a healthy quantity to eat (for 1 person) as a snack between meals?

I would say 2 balls is a good amount x
