Flourless Chocolate Orange Brownie

Flourless Chocolate Orange Brownie

I love a good brownie. I’ve tackled the raw brownie and the sweet potato and now it’s time for the chocolate orange brownie.

These brownies are guaranteed to get your friends wanting to start eating clean.

They are sweetened with my new favourite refined sugar substitute, coconut sugar which is by far the tastiest and most sustainable sugar.

The crispy orange wedges add a little crunch on top of these beauties which is complemented by the rich gooey centre of the brownies. I know you are going to love them.

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 C.
  2. Cut the butter into cubes and break up the chocolate. Melt the chocolate and butter in a pot and place over a very low heat.
  3. Once melted take this off the heat and stir in the sugar and vanilla. Leave to cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Beat the eggs in a large bowl then pour in the chocolate mix and stir vigorously. Throw in the salt and then slowly add in the almonds until your mixture is fully mixed with no lumps.
  5. Grease a small baking tray with butter/coconut oil and pour the brownie mix in. Bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Thinly slice the orange into slithers and place onto a tray. Place on the oven with the brownies for 15 minutes until crisp.
  7. When the brownies are ready take them out and let them to cool then decorate with the orange slices.

Serve with yoghurt or coconut cream and fresh berries.
