Yoga Haven and the Fear of Yoga

I moved back to London from Sydney a few months ago. Practically the first thing I did was to go on a hunt for a new yoga studio. I had been practising at Power Living in Bondi and I wanted to find a place that encompassed all the love and tranquility I had experienced there. I was extremely lucky to find Yoga Haven, a beautiful studio not far from where I live that offered hot sweaty Vinyasa flow classes.

They have gorgeous welcoming staff and two simple, eclectic practice rooms that allow you to experience the magic of yoga. Their moto is: “yoga is magical, invigorating and most importantly fun.” This can be felt throughout each class with their posotive vibes and wide variety of classes, suitable for all levels. Whether you’re a ballerina or builder, a solicitor or secretary, musician or marathon runner their passionate team will guide you through.

They have two studios in London and one in Birmingham and one in Brighton. Be sure to check out Zarah Boden’s classes at the Clapham studio, she rocks! Also make the most of the Introductory offer of 20 days unlimited for £25.00.

I think a lot of people have fear around going to a yoga class, not be flexible enough, graceful enough or not having the right body for yoga. We create these ideas in our minds that if we had of started yoga early on in life then we would go, however now we are “too old, too fat, too busy.” Yet sometimes we have to stand up to our fears. Yoga isn’t about being competitive or being the best, its about becoming more aware of ourselves and learning to let go. As we let go our concepts and beliefs that used to define us slowly begin to dissolve, expectations fade, allowing awareness to expand.

So next time you pass a yoga studio or enter your class, don’t think, analyse or try to be “it”, just let go.

For some inspiration check out this yoga babe.
