Healthy Travel Guide to Ibiza
For those that follow me on social media you may know that I recently went to the island of Ibiza! I know that the island is known for its party nature but I actually went on a lovely retreat to The Body Camp, which was so amazing. I also had the chance to explore the island and visit my favourite healthy places.
Ibiza has healthy eating cafes aplenty now and there’s so much variety that you can get involved with! So you can go to Ibiza and have your fun then turn a corner and find a whole host of healthy eating cafés full of amazing dishes. I’ve put together my favourite healthy hangouts for you from eating, to sweating and relaxing. Enjoy!
Eating on holiday can often lead to over indulging, but with these healthy places you can be sure to stay on track and have some super delicious and tasty food.
1. Passion Ibiza
Passion has been a favourite for the locals and is great for food and health conscious islanders. They have many branches so you’ll probably find one nearby. They source fresh and organic ingredients, which are truly delicious, and have an extensive juice and smoothies menu if you need a green coloured pick-me-up. Definitely worth a visit on your trip.
2. Aubergine Ibiza
I love this little gem. It has healthy Mediterranean food; the food is organic and freshly picked from the back garden, which I love! You’ll also find a local produce shop so you can pick up some groceries too!
3. Wild Beets
This yummy vegan café is great. I loved eating here when I visited Ibiza in 2015. Everything was super delicious. It’s 100% vegan; plant based and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
4. Locals Only
Their motto is think globally, eat locally and they serve meat and fish as well as veggie dishes so there’s lots to choose from and it’s great for the carnivores.
Staying fit on holiday may not be what a holiday is about for you but if you want to get your gym gear on then I’ve put together a great list of my favourite places to workout.
1. Bike around Formentera
Hop on a bike to Formentera and ride around the beautiful surroundings. I promise it won’t feel like exercise.
2. SUP Boat Ibiza
Book up and see the island in a different light, this is great fun with your friends and you’ll hardly know you’re doing wonders for your body.
3. Yoga Mojo
I love starting the day with yoga and it’s especially amazing with the views in Ibiza. You’ll have the most relaxing and beautiful experience.
4. Hike by Es Vedra
Take a guided hike along the coast line looking out onto Es Vedra. It’s one of the most breath taking views, and a picture doesn’t quite do this beauty of nature justice. There’s many myths and legends surround this rock; some believe it to be the tip of the sunken city of Atlantis, some locals believe it to be a landing spot for aliens and that there is a mysterious force that surrounds it. You’ll often find people meditating by it, but if you’re looking to sweat, you’ve got to go on a hike up the cliff side to the castle to get a better view.
Places to Relax
If you’re after some relaxation, a retreat is exactly what you need here I’ve compiled my favourites in Ibiza. Treat yourself, you deserve it!
Hot yoga in Ibiza is amazing; I promise it won’t feel like you’re doing any exercise at all. Go with some pals and expect to leave feel stretched out, fresh and more relaxed than ever!
This shows you an alternative Ibiza to the high-pressure party-side, instead it’s all about detoxing and fitness. You can have a 4-day wellness break that can totally relax your body in 5 star hotel Aguas de Ibiza. I love a chance to detox, take a break and get out of my regular routines. This retreat is all about resetting your co-ordinates – which, really, can only be a good thing!
Ibiza isn’t all about partying; the island’s energy is conducive to relaxing. Explore the relaxing side of Ibiza. The spa at Es Cucon is lovely and set in such beautiful gardens; you couldn’t be further away from the noise! Bliss!
Atzaro has such a beautiful décor and a perfect combo of yoga, spa treatments and healthy food. If you turn up here for an afternoon I assure you, you’ll never want to leave. It’s got everything you want, head for a Balinese massage!
