6 SIMPLE Ways To Keep Positive This Winter

Hey there!
I feel like everyone feels a little extra glum and downbeat in the winter months – especially for us in Britain who experience very definite seasons. It gets super tough to stay positive through the pitch black mornings and rainy evenings and leaving bed feels like the hardest thing in the world. You are not alone and I really want to help by sharing six very simple ways to beat the winter blues and make the sun shine in your life EVERY DAY! I hope they are helpful.

 

1. EAT MORE VEGGIES

 

A study in 2016 stated Eating more fruit and vegetables can make you happier. American Journal of Public Health, indicates that eating more fruit and vegetables can substantially increase people’s later happiness levels. Even without this study, I will try my best to integrate them into every meal, it makes me feel great and when I feel good in myself I am a happier person in general.

 

2. JOURNAL AWAY

 

This doesn’t actually require you to have a journal, it could just be a cause of you popping some thoughts in a notepad, or chatting to a friend openly – there are many forms of journaling, it’s important to do what makes you feel more comfortable ensuring nothing gets bottled up.

 

3. SOAK UP THE WINTER SUN

 

Even when it’s cold, getting out in the fresh air and letting the winter sun hit your face will most definitely improve your mood and make you feel great. I’m not saying it’s like being in the bahamas, but it will most definitely be better than staying inside and being around nature and sun – it works wonders for me and my family.

 

4. BOOK A MINI BREAK

 

Now this seems like I am contradicting my last point, but whilst you are soaking up the British sun as much as you can, it’s nice to have a proper break to look forward to. For me, having a date scheduled in, is a great way to stay positive and keep working hard until that point. Remember, you deserve it!

 

5. GUT, SKIN & HAIR TLC

 

When you feel good inside, it reflects on the outside and overall will make you feel happier. I swear I don’t know what I’d do without podcasts. I listen to all the people who inspire me and make me feel happy- Fearne Cotton, Venetia Falconer, Deliciously Ella are some of the many. I’ve also just launched my own called Get Your Glow Back which I hope will make you feel the same way, especially if your a parent and wanting your glow back. There is something super refreshing and feel good, about feeling like your involved in a chat whilst traveling on the tube.
