5 Foods To Help Balance Your Hormones and Boost Fertility

Fertility is a very emotional subject. Some women struggle where as others fall pregnant easily. It’s amazing how powerful food can be at balancing your hormones and boosting fertility. I know for me eating well really helped me fall pregnant. Here are 5 top foods to get into your diet:

1. Avocado

Benefits – A fantastic source of vitamin E which studies have shown can be beneficial in improving endometrial lining. Avocados are nutritional powerhouses packed with minerals, vitamins, essential fats, protein, carbohydrate and fibre.

How to get it in – smash it on sourdough toast with a nice big sprinkle of pumpkin seeds for that extra hit of iron.

2. Almonds

Benefits – Full of vitamin E which can improve sperm health in men, it’s also an antioxidant that helps to protect sperm and egg DNA. Good for both you and your partner.

How to get it in – Grab a nice big handful as a snack, or sprinkle over a big bowl of pad Thai.

3. Brussel sprouts

Benefits – Bursting with folic acid which is essential for boosting fertility in both men and women.  This vitamin rich source also increases sperm levels and helps line the womb with the right nutrients raising sperm survival chances.

How to get it in – Roast them and garnish with some bacon and pomegranate seeds

4. Carrots

Benefits – Orange colored carrots get their bright color from beta-carotene, an antioxidant that is converted to vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A plays a vital role in bone growth, reproduction and immune system health. It also helps the skin and mucous membranes repel bacteria and viruses more effectively.

How to get it in – Grate into your oats with some pecans and cinnamon for delicious bowl of overnight carrot cake oats.

5. Oysters

Benefits – Oysters have been known to increase libido, but oysters can also be a great source for fertility because they are packed with zinc, which increases the production of good-quality eggs.

How to get it in – A hard one to fit into your everyday, find your local seafood restaurant and book you and your other half a date night
